Teen Summer Programs

Come to the Sunnyvale Public Library this summer for the following special programs for teens (anyone going into sixth through twelfth grade). Unless otherwise indicated, all programs will take place in the Library Program Room.

Teen Manga/Anime Discussion Group
Wednesdays

4 p.m. – 5 p.m.

Come and talk with other fans about your favorite Manga and Anime! For teens and interested adults. Refreshments will be provided. For grades 6-12.

Dungeons and Dragons Days
Sundays
June 13
July 11
August 8
1 p.m. – 5 p.m.

Join Dungeonmaster Mike and travel through a perilous adventure. Or bring your group and run your own dungeon! We’ll supply refreshments; bring your own dice, books and characters. For grades 6-12.

Bronkar’s Circus of Sound

In front of the Sunnyvale Library

See his amazing beat box and vocal performance! This program is for teens, but anyone is welcome to watch and enjoy.

Wii Tournament
Saturday, June 26
2 p.m. – 5 p.m.

Who is the greatest Mario Kart player at the Sunnyvale Library? Sign up and find out if it’s you!

Library Idol
Tuesday, August 17
6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.

Come and show your talent! Sing, dance, play an instrument, read poems, tell jokes…do what you do best. Sign up in the Children’s Room starting July 1. For grades 6-12.

Teen Blog Challenge

7 p.m. – 8 p.m.

Come and help make a list of things you and other teens want to accomplish this summer. We’ll set up a blog and you can all blog about meeting these goals. We’ll meet live to set it up in June, and again in August at the end of the summer. For grades 9-12.

Chocolate Extravaganza 5
Thursday, August 12
3 p.m. – 4 p.m.

CALLING ALL CHOCOLATE LOVERS
Join us for a program dedicated to all things chocolate, with lots to eat and do. Write a poem to chocolate and win a prize!

Book Review Haiku
All summer.
Write a book review HAIKU and enter a weekly drawing for a Borders gift card. Ask the Librarians for an entry form. Enter once a week!

Tell us what you’re reading!
All summer.
Fill out a Teen Bestsellers card and be entered to win a prize.

FANIME PHOTO CONTEST
Photos must be submitted by June 12. Contest ends July 10.
Submit a 5×7 photo of you and your friends at the Fanime convention. Teens will vote for their favorites. Prizes! See submission form for details.
