About

The Sunnyvale Public Library’s Summer Reading Program is an annual program designed to encourage children, teens, and adults to read during summer break. Registration is from June 1 – July 15.

Each child (Ages 3 – Grade 5) receives a reading log and records at least 10 book titles that he or she reads over the summer. (Young ones may count books read to them.) The children’s prize is a free book AND a $2 Friends of the Library gift certificate!

2-GB USB BraceletTeens (Grades 6-12) complete a Teen Activity Sheet. The teen prize is either a free book OR a 2-GB USB drive bracelet (while supplies last)! (See alternate prize in the photo. This year, the colors are black or green, not red or blue.) Teens who turn in a completed Activity Sheet will receive one ticket for our drawing for a free NOOK Simple Touch or equivalent! (One prize per family in both Teen and Adult drawings.)

Adults (ages 18+) need to read and record at least 5 books. Adults may count audiobooks, too! The adult prize is either a free book OR a $5 Friends of the Library gift certificate that can be used on the books sold in the lobby or at a book sale! Adults who turn in a completed reading log will receive one ticket for our drawing for a free NOOK Simple Touch or equivalent, $50 or $25 Barnes and Noble Gift Cards! (One prize per family in both Teen and Adult drawings.)
